Even by the VERY low standards of the fraud-fest "Paranormal State," this was a real lulu.
I caught the show this morning (Sunday 10/17), and A&E seems to be running a P.S. marathon today. So you might be able to see it, if you want to LOL at some serious paranormal investigatin' .
The highlights:
1. Couple who restore antiques is given an old piano, free. It's in pretty good shape and could be fixed up/tuned.
2. BUT...the piano clearly exhibits signs of demonic possession as soon as they get it to their house.
I won't do any *SPOILERS* for those who want to catch the episode. But trust me - that piano is about as scary as a 5-year-old kid in a Halloween costume.
3. Bonus Wooery - they drag in that tiresome phony Lorraine Warren to "consult." First they try calling the old bat and describing the problem on the phone. But she insists, "I need to see the possessed object and observe its Presence." (Translation: "I want a free vacation financed by A&E.")
They make a big deal out of saying that Warren "was the first demonologist consulted on the famous case of the Amityville Horror." A case which was admitted to be a hoax LONG ago, as a simple Google proves.
4. What really pissed me off *SPOILER IN WHITE TEXT* - that piano could have brought some joy to maybe a retirement home or an orphanage or a school. And these assholes hacked the piano to pieces with axes! Then buried the pieces in a grave to "get rid of the evil." G-r-r...!
