For those who have read your other books, what differentiates this book from your previous works?

This book tells a much bigger story. Autism’s False Prophets told the story of the people and the forces behind the fear in the autism community. This book speaks more generally about the fact that vaccines save lives, they do not cause harm. It gets behind the science of vaccines, the erosion of immunization rates in communities and looks at vaccine usage dating back to England during the 1850s.

In an interview with pointofinquiry.org on February 12th of 2010, you stated that you wrote, Autism’s False Prophets for parents and to prevent them from making decisions that could damage their children. Did you write Deadly Choices for that same audience?

Actually, this book is for a larger audience. Unlike Autism’s False Prophets, Deadly Choices gets into the politics of this particular phenomenon – the erosion of vaccines and vaccine usage. At the end of the book, I try to look at solutions to try and turn this around. Initially, I thought that it would turn around when children started to die as a result of not vaccinating. But I was wrong. Kids are already dying and something needs to be done.

I used to think it was the fundies were the WORST when it came to anti- idiocy..but as this statement proves (from a site that is anti-fox news of all things) I despair for the idiots on the left who might be worse...

... after getting a swine flu vaccination in the '70s.

6. Oh, yeah. I got GBS from the swine flu shot in 1976 too.

Turns out one need not have recieved that vaccination or even have been diagnosed with GBS for that to be true on the anonymous Internet message board. My kids also went from perfectly healthy to having severe, regressive autism within minutes of receiving the MMR shot. All the girls at the local high school died after getting the HPV vax, and water fluoridation killed six people on my street.

Edited to add: Members of my family have also contracted measles, pertussis, polio, and smallpox despite being fully vaccinated. Thankfully, they only got mild cases that cleared up pretty quickly.

With 1:195,249,054 odds for the Powerball drawing (two a week), one year (104 drawings) will bring my chances up to 1:877,395.
