FRAKKING ANTI-VAXERS!!!
http://www.kgw.com/news/Another-measles-case-confirmed-in-Clark-Co.html

7-month old infant contracts measles overseas, spreads it to an unvaccinated private school student who spreads it to at least ten of his unvaccinated classmates, and over 130 people who read the article voted, "We don't believe vaccines are necessary." in the accompanying poll.

I'm increasingly in favor of criminal and/or civil liability for the parents of unvaccinated children who spread disease.

1. I'm increasingly sure
that we as a species will kill ourselves due to fear of logic and reason

2. If they spread disease, oh, you bet they should be liable.
If they spread it to an immunocompromised person and cause death, they should do jail time for sure.

There is simple negligence and criminal negligence. Antivaxers are guilty of the latter.

There is no way their speshul snoflaykes should be allowed into any school, public or private. And yes, I'm talking about the Amish, too. At some point, religious people just need to suck it up and do what's best for the people around them.

4. Without a compelling medical reason to avoid them
a failure to obtain vaccinations for your kids should be grounds for an escalating series of fines and possible removal of parental rights.

They are worse than people who knowingly have unprotected sex with HIV without telling their partners...and those people can be charged in court with ASSAULT. Anti-vaxxers can potentially hurt or kill a lot more than that. You remember, my sister with Lupus picked up Pertussis from unvaccinated children.....

As you post that I also heard about THIS a couple of days ago:

Thats a lot of potential exposure! :grr:

6. But don't you know, circumcision prevents the spread of HIV 100% of the time.
I learned it right here on DU!
