MMORPG - MxO
Thats right, The Matrix Online MMORPG.

Its now retail, however I have been playing since beta days. I must say it is the most visually stunning MMORPG I've played. It's not overly complicated (yet) and has a easy to understand interface/combat system.

If you are a Matrix fan or if you seen the movies and would like to keep up on what happens to the humans after the war ends, then by all means check this game out. The live event team schedules global events in keeping with the story line (like what happened to Neo and Smith, and are they really dead...) as well as the world being driven by the players themselves.

Understandably the game is still fleshing out bugs (only a few weeks out of release) but it did have quite a smooth launch and is getting better by the day.

So, if you're interested, I say come check it out. It is really quite fun and it keeps you entertained and engaged by the developing story line. Like this past weekend there was a global event that has lasted for over 5 days with and exploding conclusion that kept me "jacked-in" for nearly a day straight.

What are you waiting for Bluepill! Take the Red pill and get ready for the ride of your life!

2. But, how does it smoke?
What do you do in it?

Traditionally in these games you bash things, or deliver things, or find areas....does this game copy that?

Do you live in the matrix and you're a redpill, and you go into the matrix (basically yuou're always there right?) and you kill...like low level agents?

That wouldn't make sense? Criminals? Matrix bluepill criminals? Why?

You see what I'm saying?

What do you do? How does it jive with being in the universe? This is something that I haven't been explained before and woudl definately keep me from being in the game.

If it's City of Heroes but Matrix looking i'm not interested. If it's more complex I might be.

3. Ok, so here are the essentials.
Like every other MMO out there, there is the req'd level grind. Bash stuff, explore, deliver, escort, ect. for xp and info(cash). This is enhanced however by the incorporation of missions and contacts.

There are 3 different factions in the game. Zion, Exiles, and the Machines. You do not align yourself with one or the other at the beginning of the game, though at the beginning you solely working for Zion as an introduction. By doing missions for the factions you earn reputation points which will, when high enough, align you with that faction. The story/universe is driven primarily by the interaction between repills of the different factions, though there are hired professional writers developing story lines for/in response too the different interactions.

I have never played City of Heroes so I can not compare the two. I only implore you to check out the website, visit the forums, read up on whats going on and how the gameplay looks to you.

4. It's all generic sounding
The content updates and writers sounds cool, updating the storyline etc. That could work, or it could fail like I think it does with most other mmo's in that they're events geared to 50th level chars or something stupid.

so you have the required level grind. What do you bash? I imagine you explore different parts of the city, and deliver the whatzit to whozit or the information to wherehego....

I"m most concerned with the bashing aspect. That just doesn't seem matrixy to me. They were violent but never just randomly violent. The only enemy were the agents who were everyone, everywhere.

What do you bash?
