Arcanum: Anyone play it?

I'm curious because after reading so many great reviews of it, I broke down and bought it last summer. After about 10 hours or so of play, I just was not engaged at all. Should I give it another shot?

1. Most definitely.

There are always some RPGs you have to commit yourself to for just a little while longer before becoming totally sucked in -- Arcanum and Neverwinter Nights had that effect on me (though I didn't like NWN even half as much as I liked Arcanum).

Just curious -- which part in the game are you at? I didn't really start getting into the game until the almost-completely industrialized city (starts with a "T," can't remember the name).

The not-so-great graphics don't help with Arcanum (they were even poor by the standards when the game was released) but the story, the magical world dealing with its own industrial revolution, and the open-ended nature of the game were enough to satisfy.

One of the best RPGs I've ever played -- and it's also one of only two RPGs I've re-played (KOTOR I being the other one). I was actually thinking about giving it another go too...
