The Extra $100 gets you a 20gb hard drive, remote control, headset, and wireless controller. I would've thought Microsoft would've been smarter than to split their user base in half like this.

Is this a smart move? I for one don't like it. It seems like those who buy the $299.00 version are paying more for the system then those who buy the more expensive unit. A 20gb HDD, remote, headset and wireless controller are only worth $100.00. It doesn't make much sense.

3. I noted one article mentioned that certain RPGs
will require the 399 version to run. I assume they are talking about Oblivion, so that right there means I'm locked into the 399 version.

but I'm splitting cost with my fiance, who is an elder scrolls fanatic, so that's ok.

4. Why not just buy the PC version?
Or would it cost you that much to upgrade your computer with a decent graphics card and a gig of memory?

As an aside... only a 20 GIG HARD DRIVE? That's IT??? Weak!

5. Price Will Go Down
Microsoft has said that if buyers wait a while the price will go down. Look what happened to the first XBOX and the PSP2 they first came out at $279 and then later were reduced by $100.
