Does the Guitar, from Guitar Hero III bundle pack for the PS2 work for Rockband(PS2)?....

I have read a lot of conflicting reports online, and even the game informer doesn't know...

Anyone know?

1. Yes, but not the other way around.

That is, the GH3 guitar does work for RB, but the RB guitar does NOT work for GH.

It makes me want to punch a baby! I love the feel of the RB Strat guitar, and I really wish I could play GH with it.

The RB guitar isn't bad, I liked how they have the fret buttons closer to the strum bar, pretty interesting set up, especially for hammer on's/pull off's...

5. The fret buttons high on the guitar's neck are there for solos

No need to strum the guitar during the guitar solos in Rock Band. Just press the smaller set of buttons on the guitar.
The Rock Band guitar also has a set of buttons in the expected spot. I like it much better than the GHIII one; the strum key is quiet and you can hear the music easier.

7. I liked the RB guitar, its all good to me, I

wish all of the guitars/games were compatible with one another...getting GHIII bundle pack was an investment for me, and getting RB for 150+ is just to expensive for me...man, I felt guilty spending 80 bucks on the bundle I got.

9. Rock Band is, I believe, available by itself.

And you can get the drums, mic, and guitar separately now.

2. Gawd I want that game!!

I'm probably going to invest in an XBox 360 or PS3 just for the drums, microphone and downloadable content. I love Guitar Hero, but my fingers just can't handle playing anything past medium no matter how hard I try. Or do the massive finger and wrist cramps actually go away if you keep playing the game through the pain?

I don't know when - we're poor as hell right now - but someday I'm gonna get that game! :)

4. RB looks pretty sweet,

I just played 1 song last night, Say it Ain't So by Weezer...I wanted to play more, but my wife pulled me away(I was on guitar).

The drum set up looks pretty interesting...what intrigues me the most is the song selection, I just want more songs to play dammit! :D

As for GH3, I'm 9 songs away from beating it on hard...I'm struggling with set 7, I know I can do it, its hard for me to reprogram my brain to hit the notes differently, because its a whole new ballgame with orange involved.

I don't know if I'll ever beat it all on expert, I really don't have the drive to bash my head up against that brick wall. As it is right now, hard is still fun, but barely....

Rock Band's hard difficulty is definitely easier than Guitar Hero III's hard mode.

8. Essentially the note progression(mostly that is)

is not that horrendous. I've noticed a lot of patterns, of using the red through orange, and I just move my hand down one fret to do all that mumbo jumbo...and when the bring green back in, I usually miss 1 or 2 notes, before moving my hand back down to deal with green through blue....

The ones that get me are the jumping between orange/green/yellow...just single notes, going back and forth. I don't mind holding down the splits/or double notes, because usually the progression is just bring my hand down/or up 1 fret or two....sometimes, my brain gets tripped up, and it takes me a note or two to get my bearings...having the little bump on the yellow button helps out though.

The drums look good, but I'm going to dump 150 into a game, might as well get a real drum set, I always wanted one of those, :D

As far as difficulty goes, the hard on GHIII is harder/faster than the hard on GHI, or II(in my view). When I revert back to GHI, or II on medium, or hard, I catch myself always trying to go to fast, and I end up missing a lot of easy notes...it usually takes me a song or two on those, to get my bearings.
