Poll question: Narrowing it down: please vote for the best PS3 open-world game
I'm very close to getting the new PS3 Slim. In this post I asked DU gamers to recommend the best PS3 sandbox games. GTA IV will be an automatic purchase, so I didn't include it in the poll below.

All the options in this poll were suggested by DUers in replies to the above link. What I'll do is buy these in the order of the amount of votes they get.

Thanks, everyone. I knew nothing about any of these until you suggested them in the previous thread.

Excluding GTA IV, the best open-world, free-roaming, "sandbox" game for the PS3 is...

1. I did not vote because it is too much of a toss-up
I have two of these that suck up a lot of my playing time, Sacred 2 and Prototype. Very different games but both very good. S2 is very much the diablo clone, see my review here:

I'm just about ready to add in my Shadow Warrior build :D

Prototype is... just awesome, see the review by Occulus here:

I think you could go with either one of these and be very happy but you should probably go with both if you can :D

2. Fallout 3. You can take the cannibal perk and eat the people you kill.
Make sure you get the Game of the Year Edition. It has a lot of extra content.

3. My wife votes for Oblivion because Oblivion has a fantasy theme and
has a beautiful environment, lakes, forests, Elven ruins, etc. I prefer Fallout 3 over Oblivion because of the RPG elements, but I understand where she is coming from, Oblivion definitely looks richer than Fallout 3.

Elder Scrolls. I do like Elder Scrolls and I get lost a lot which to me is a good thing, the world is big enough for me to get lost. I spend a lot of time in the Arena, I love the Arena...but my wife hates it when I yell "I do not entertain!" at 3am in the morning. :D
