Rock Band vs. Guitar Hero - which is worth the investment (Wii)

I've been playing Rock Band on my iphone and I love it! I own a Wii and I want to get Rock Band for my Wii except finding the guitar out there in the store is near impossible. But it seems Guitar Hero is pretty readily available.

Should I hold out for Rock Band or is Guitar Hero a pretty decent game.

Pros with Rock Band: I like their song selection and I hear they are coming out with Green Day Rock Band this summer
Cons with Rock Band: Can't find the bundles anywhere.

1. I think RockBand is much more fun, especially with company.

(I can't speak for the Wii version; I'm a 360er.)

Even if you can't find the bundles, you can use almost any e-guitar out there for Rock Band...including those bundled with Guitar Hero. The reverse, however, is not true.

Also, as a real musician as well as a gamer, I like the timing required by Rock Band better than the Guitar Hero timing. This is really a small point for most people, but I just can't seem to "get" the GH timing, whereas the RB timing feels "right" to me.

2. I was told that the Wii was the only console where RB and GH guitars were not compatible

so I have to get a RB for Wii if I want to play it

3. My understanding is that if you get it for Wii you definitely need to get Rock Band 2

The Wii version of the first Rock Band is said to be far inferior the PS3 and XBox versions, but Rock Band 2 adds a lot of the features the first game was missing and is nearly as good as its counterparts on the more powerful consoles. As far as Guitar Hero goes it is decent and you will get plenty of enjoyment out of it, but it is not as good as Rock Band.
