I need help fast, please!!
I don't know what to do. I think my dr. is in some kind of trouble or something, he just stopped seeing his patients(he's been my dr. for over 20 years). I have many medical problems and he just stopped all my medication that i've been taking for quite awhile. A pharmacist told me that I just can't stop my medicine or there could be deadly consequences, but the Dr. won't see me. My wife called him and he had a woman tell her to take me to the emergency room and find a new Dr. It's not that easy, I haven't had my meds for over a week and I'm starting to get very sick. Is this legal, what can I do? I greatly appreciate any help!!

1. Go to the hospital, deal with the legal stuff later.

2. Go to the hospital... they have to treat you and will point you in
the direction of a new Dr.

3. Go to an ER and tell them the scoop
You will be seen and given an emergency scrip. They will also give you a list of docs who can take care of your particular illness.

It sounds like your old doc is in some legal trouble, at least that's my guess. He could also have suffered some sort of catastrophic health problem, himself. Whatever is going on, you will need care in the meantime.

Go to the ER. It beats getting sicker and dying from stubbornness.

4. Instead of an emergency room,
Go immediately to a walk-in clinic or an urgent care facility. Bring all your prescription bottles with you, and explain the situation. They should be able to take care of it, if you provide proof that you were prescribed these medicines before.

Good luck.

6. I agree. try Urgent Care before Emergency Room (if you can) I have
received some great help in those facilities, including issues with scrips and meds, even to the point of getting some free samples when I was really ill and they didn't want me to have to sit around in a pharmacy waiting for scrips to be filled.
I'll be praying for you...let us know how things go. I know how shitty health issues can be...take care of yourself as best you can

5. Contact your health plan (if you have one) and get a new doctor.
If you don't have a health plan, get a new doctor anyway.

I'm 38 and in good health. I'd take a trip to my doctor's office to find out what's going on in person. It doesn't sound like that strategy would work for you.

The issue is that you can't be without necessary meds. Get a new doctor immediately. Depending on your medical conditions, visit an ER to get meds if you have no other way of getting them.

8. You have gotten good advice here, that is how to get med help.
Now go do it. If you have been told to NOT stop your meds or risk serious consequences, and HAVE stopped your meds, you need to get help ASAP. Urgent care, ER, call your insurance co, get to see someone NOW. Doctors can legally stop seeing people. You are responsible for you. Go get help now.
