For those Applying for Social Security Disability Benefits
Edited on Sun Jan-10-10 05:55 PM by marcicj
Here is a great site that has actual copies of letters from Social Security to people who have applied for Disability Benefits.

http://www.ssdfacts.com

It also has wait times, alot of insider information that has come from Judges, people who have worked in the Disability office and people who have applied for Benefits.

From reading through this forum, it seems this information might help alot of you that have applied for Benefits. Thanks for all the great info on this site. I am thrilled to be a part of it.

11. Forms
I wanted to let you know that they just put an entire file from a disability case on their website. It is great as it lets you know what social security is looking at and for. Definately worth a look if you are applying.

workman's comp & state disability pension but SS told me to go back to work..funny. You sound like a * administration appointee,deny,deny,deny,deny...they will go away.It got so bad in NY the media started questioning the "culture of denial". So you think its easy to get. Calling in dead is easier.

12. rejects don't quit!
i am dissabled for major depresion disorder- go figure! went to helen farabee center to get treated (state affiliated somehow). they told me how to fill out forms and filed for me-every patient has to file so they get paid. most are rejected the first time- then refile- most all go through the 2nd time. back pay from when u file the first time. don't go to lawyers! they eat up your lump payment. incorporate depression with whatever physical disability u have and go to state funded center. here's a kicker- bi-polar is NOT accepted like depression- stupid? my drs. have done nothing for me in 3 yrs. & every med that's manufactured- but i get a check.

10. Thanks
I registered and will check it out later. I've been turned down 3 times and think it might be time to start over with the process.
