I just wanted to let you know there is a program on PBS called Signing Time. For folks getting Houston PBS, it comes on Sunday mornings. It is half an hour of playful instruction and singing, beautiful children signing, etc. You can practice your rudimentary skills with this show. They also have a website http://www.SigningTimeKids.org.

My autistic son first learned to communicate using basic signs.

1. My kids love this show.

We have the DVDs also. I purchased them before the show came on PBS. My three year old knows a lot of the signs and my two year old twins have picked up a few. Their attention span is not the best, but they do enjoy the songs. It was very useful for teaching them how to tell me they were thirsty, hungry, or that they needed more of something. The boys ask to watch the DVDs quite often.

2. She has these on DVD? I had no idea! I bet some of the people

in our school district would love to know that, and I hope she has them listed at her website.
