Why do they insist on believing that all hs'ers are a bunch of ignorant rightwing fundamentalists?

Why do they keep saying "we" are cheating other kids out of a "good education" because we're hs'ing our children?

Why do they want to take away our right to hs?

Who do you think will be first in line to hs when the fundies take over their school boards, eh?

edit to add: I could REALLY use some moral support here. . .

1. I just ignore their hs comments...
The last time I took part I was called a "garden party democrat" or something like that and was lectured that I should help make the public schools better by participating. I just stay away from those discussions now.

Even though I agree with many of the people on these boards about many topics, there are quite a few that I don't agree with. I'm disapointed that they can be so close-minded about hsing (one of the things I like about Dems is that usually they are more open-minded), but I think it will just take time for people to wake up.

I think you're right - once the fundies take over their boards they'll yank their kids quickly.

I certainly do not regret my decision to keep my girls at home, even if most of the DUers don't agree!

I turn to DU dozens of times a day- the 'Greatest' page is my homepage- in order to experience the comfort of like minds. And, the info here is my kids' civics and current event material- there is no better source.

It is frustrating to have to constantly experience the collective homeschool prejudice.

Cheating other children? I think not. I am giving my community a gift in these liberal, free thinking future voters I am educating at home.
