We're homeschooling under an r-4 (private school affidavit) here in California. I have everything on file that's legally required, mostly CYA stuff that doesn't even make sense outside of an institutional school, but haven't seen much point so far in keeping a log of activities or anything like that.
I'm thinking maybe it might prove beneficial (for our own purposes, I know any school he might transfer to someday probably has less than no interest in my logs of his activities or assessment of his abilities) to keep track of what he works on each day. Does anybody do something like this, either because it's required in their location or for their own reasons? Is it helpful? Any advice on how to go about it, or if I should? Paper records or software, etc?
