There's really no substitute for those wonderful faces and images, color or in beautiful black and white.

Since You Went Away is one I only saw during the last few years (Thanks, TCM!), but it makes great viewing, especially at Christmas. But watch those tears. :cry:

3. I've never seen 'The Story of Three Loves'

but I'll be taping it tomorrow for later viewing. 'Portrait Of Jennie' is one of my ALL time favorites!! Joseph Cotten is wonderful in everything he appeared in, IMO.

That's another Joseph Cotten-Jennifer Jones pairing. I happened to catch it years ago on what was once known as American Movie Classics (indeed, back when it was American Movie Classics, and not a hodgepodge of the good and the god-awful).

5. I like the "Mademoiselle" segment of Story of Three Loves.

The element of magic in it appeals to me, and although her role is small, Ethel Barrymore manages to
walk away with it, IMHO.
