1. 'Love Me or Leave Me' and 'A Patch of Blue'
I think 'Love Me or Leave Me' one of Doris Day's best dramatic efforts. I must also confess that Cagney was never one of my favorites, but he does a great job in this role playing an ass-hole.

I saw 'A Patch of Blue' when I was growing up in Australia, in the local small-town theater, after having read the book a couple of times. Sidney Poitier's performance gave me a crush on him!

2. I always watch "A Patch of Blue" whenever it comes on.
I think Elizabeth Hartman's performance was superb. She never fails to
move me, but she avoids being over-sentimental, and always keeps a tough
shell, which is perfectl in keeping with her dreadful upbringing.
