1. I caught part of "The 39 Steps" this morning.

I first saw that when I was a university student, about the same time I saw The Kennel Murder Case, which I also enjoyed.

Right now I have part 2 of Little Dorrit on. I've never read the novel, and I've caught only parts of the new BBC production on Masterpiece. For the most part, I can't resist a good, meaty literary adaptation with the best of actors.

2. I saw part of the 1959 remake of "The 39 Steps" once -

I didn't see it through to the end, because it wasn't a patch on the
1935 version. Kenneth More was such a boring actor, IMO, and whoever
the director was, he was no Hitchcock.
