1. Yeah!!
I love Summer Under the Stars -- it's a chance to catch some of the great ones in films I've never seen before. I've never caught The Mad Miss Manton or The Farmer Takes a Wife.

3. I never get tired of "Yours, Mine, and Ours."

I love Henry Fonda's voiceovers, his exchanges with the kids and with on-screen wife Lucille Ball. The whole movie is still a hoot.

4. I must prefer 'Yours, Mine and Ours'
over the re-make done recently by Dennis Quaid and Rene Russo, and the 'Cheaper by the Dozen' re-make with Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy these actors, but for me, the originals of these movies are THE classics... :hi:

5. I still haven't tried to watch either of those.
I don't disapprove of remakes per se and of course accept that Hollywood will borrow a premise and stray far from the source material.

But there was such heart to the older movies. The 1968 Yours, Mine, and Ours is a great big disorderly Valentine to the philosophy that love is what you've been through with someone.
