1. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Claude Rains all evening!! Have I died and gone to heaven or WHAT? I'm so glad that TCM decided to include 'Mr. Skeffington' in this line-up. As I've shared before, I think this movie showcases Bette Davis at her loveliest. Claude Rains is perfection in his role! You can't help but fall in love with him in this movie!!

2. I also thought he was superb in "Notorious" -

Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman are hard to beat, but he held his own all the way. It's one of my favourite
Hitchcock films.

I know I've said it before, but I'm so sorry that nobody has ever written a biography of him. I'd love to know
more about him, and I'm sure it would make interesting reading. I've only been able to pick up snippets from
reading biogs about other actors who worked with him.

4. Thank you for finding that.

I read in the Peter Lorre biography that Rains was dictating his autobiography to his daughter when he died; seems
it's sat around for a long time.

It's a shame that it seems to be less than satisfactory - not much on the personal detail, and that could be because
of his daughter's involvement. I'm going to suggest it to my library though, because I'd like to read it anyway.
