Omaha film historian Bruce Crawford will join directors George Lucas (“Star Wars”), James Cameron (“Avatar”) and John Landis (“An American Werewolf in London”) in a tribute to Ray Harryhausen.
Harryhausen, 89, is a visual effects expert whose work appears in movies like the 1981 version of “Clash of the Titans” and the 1963 feature “Jason and the Argonauts.”
The salute will take place June 26 in London, hosted by the British Film Institute and the British Academy.

On May 4, Crawford will speak to a concert audience in Indianapolis about film composer Bernard Herrmann's influence in films and in the concert hall. The Ronen Chamber Ensemble will play Herrmann's “Souvenirs de Voyage.”
