1. The Mating Season

is one of those quirky little films that rarely get seen, but yet turn out to be entertaining. I saw this some time ago, because I'm a Gene Tierney fan, but it's Thelma Ritter who steals the show in this one! She received her second of six Oscar nominations for her role as the mother-in-law. So many nominations, all for great and memorable roles, and not one win! Not even a posthumous one!
