1. I can't see Penny Serenade enough!
I could have sworn I had already programmed the DVR to record it but it wasn't on the list so thanks for the timely reminder about Irene Dunne! :hi:

2. Bring tissues to this film festival.
Look at that line-up of Irene Dunne movies. Get ready for a tear duct workout.

3. I've learned not to work out during the tear jerkers!
Yesterday I was watching Since You Went Away while on my recumbent exercise bike and found it difficult to breathe and cry at the same time, during the scene when Jane is chasing the train as Bill is leaving to go off to war. And then the Colonel shows up, too late!

4. Oh, no.
You had to mention the colonel.

Thank God Hattie McDaniel is around to make some smart remarks and keep us from falling completely apart. Joseph Cotten is a help too, but then he always is (well, at least when he's playing nice guys, which he is here).

5. I Remember Mama
How I love that movie. With Uncle singing "Ten thousand Swedes ran through the weeds - at the Battle of Copenhagen". So many memorable characters in this story.

Every time I see the scenes where mama finds a way to see her daughter in the hospital I have to grab a hanky. Reminds me of how my mom sat in the hallway outside the ward overnight when I had my tonsils out. Oh jeez!
