Toner cartridges: Where to buy, who to avoid? Help!
I have a Brother 1440 Laser printer, and it's time to replace a toner cartridge. I don't want to support Reds, would prefer a re-manufactured cartridge and a company where I can sent my old one back for recycling.

Google, Yahoo Shopping and the Better Business Bureau online have been marginally helpful in weeding out where not to go...

Any recommendations? Any business you've used that is stellar or rotten for ink/toner?

Oh, and I will not, cannot use Laser Monks. It's personal. Sorry.

2. Got This From Coopamerica.org's "Greenpages"
Which is sort of like a yellow pages for progressive businesses. They list Brother in the brands they carry and they have an 800# so it's worth a shot. If it's unfeasable for cost or whatever reason back to square one!

4. personal pet peeve... what's so difficult about a catalog and pricing?
If you're going to build a damn website, it's not that hard to put out your products.

Under normal circumstances, I'm bitchy about this and won't deal with anyone who doesn't take the time to hire a decent web developer to do this, but....

5. Wow!! You're Tough....LOL...
Try this one, since you have to enter the model # & stuff I'm not sure if they then provide you with a price? Looks like a nice site -- I'm also looking for remanufactured cartridges now that you brought it up, it's the type of thing you can order on line I'll bet. I want to find a good source and stock up so I don't end up running to GAK Staple in a panic...

6. Wow....These Are MUCH CHEAPER Than What I'm Used To...
Heck I'm gonna try it. And, the home page says they are a "small business" "Woman-owned" and mentions being environmentaly aware too.

7. I've just done web development for a living, and worked with marketers.
Sorry for being grumpy... I'm just out of toner, it's after hours on a friday, and I've got stuff I have to now print on the inkjet. I won't do staples, and the closest big box that's even remotely okay is 45 miles away, which is too far for my comfort.

Ack. Thanks for the link - they're looking like my darlings!

8. Thanks For Bringing This Up!
That's something I ONLY think about when the "need new ink" light goes off. I just ordered 3 each of the color & b&w cartridges for my Epson printer -- and all 3 are cheaper than 1 at Staples as it turns out, I hope they work!! Thanks for bringing this up -- if these work out for me I'm ordering everything in bulk from them from now on and good bye Staples!
