Ok, I am going to write a letter to Bank of America about Diebold
I went to the bank today, and on the ATM machine staring me in the face were the letters "DIEBOLD." I can't use an ATM from such an unethical company.

I'm torn about BOA, because I believe opensecrets.org says that they donate more blue. But when O'Dell, the CEO of Diebold, said he was "committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the president." ... well that is tearing down Democracy. (a good link for that quote http://money.cnn.com/2004/08/30/technology/election_diebold/?cnn=yes)

All right. I'll post the letter after I write it, but it may be a few days from now.

Bank of America bought out Fleet bank, so I don't know if BOA ATMs universally are Diebold, but I know the Fleet ones are. I want the letter to inform them that their customers in Kerry's home state may not be happy using the ATMs from the company that unethically and illegally swayed the election.

1. Bravo
I'm sorry to see this post not getting any responses, even after how many days now. Everybody's talking about boycotting this and that because people in the company gave more to Rethuglicans. We usually don't even know who, and sometimes it's only split 60-40 or even less to get the label "red". Yet when you talk about responding to the actual beast that stole the election, no one responds.

What's up here? People will boycott a company and call it red when 56% of a small total of donations went to Thugs, but no one will bother to read the brand name on an ATM????

I've posted several times in various places about boycotting Diebold ATMs and the reaction is always exactly the same--nothing.

Anyway, I'm glad to know that at least some Diebold ATMs have their name on them. I haven't been able to find any brand name on my bank's ATMs.

2. I haven't seen Diebold on any local ATM's
But usually when I need cash I go directly to my credit union to make a withdrawal. Avoid the fees and eliminate the issue of giving Diebold my money.

I was joking with a friend the other day that Diebold voting machines screwing up MUST be deliberate, because not once has an ATM given me the wrong amount of money or otherwise screwed up.

And try to find a credit union...B of A & most commercial banks give to PACs that are red as blood and support the BushCo agenda.

On Follow Your Money BofA is mostly red?? But if you look at the PAC money for "industries" on open secrets you see that credit unions are your best choice.

4. PS -- Just Looked On Open Secrets re: B of A
B of A gave 60% GOP to Senate candidates, really not bad for that industry but as a rule I avoid any co. over 50% GOP.

Total to Democratic House Candidates: $339,100
Total to Republican House Candidates: $502,919
