question about costco...
This is probably a dumb question that could be answered if I just did a little more research, but I'm tired and it's late, so...

I've seen costco mentioned several times as a good place to shop, and I'm wondering what your reasons are. I'm sure they are good, just don't know what they are:-)

1. They give money to dems, none to repugs.
Treat employees well. Have great stuff.

Here is a link. http://www.buyblue.org/detail.php?corpId=17

I started shopping at Costco right after the election. I am lucky, I have one 10 mins from my house.

One day I brought a list of regularly purchased grocery items and the cost at my local, repug contributing grocery store. Costco beat them on price, hands down.

The quality of items at costco tends to be high, more gourmet than many of the other similar retailers. House brand, Kirkland, is good, too. I think the dog food is better quality than Iams, and it is like $10 for a 40 lb. bag. I use their shampoo, as well.

Finally, my doctor says that they have the best prices on prescriptions, even better than allot of the on-line pharmacies.

Shopping at costco is fun :) Enjoy!

8. all of the above
we have a Sam's and a Costco in the same shopping complex and we go to Costco all the time. The merchandise and service are great!

we get everything from contacts to paper goods there. ( if you wear contacts ask about their rebate: I got a year's supply of accuvues for around $82.00 after a $30.00 rebate ).

one reason i love running low on toilet tissue: it means a run to Costco! then i can get my teriyaki turkey jerky!

4. to expand on this a bit:
all of their employees earn very good wages and get excellent benefits. I'd rather support a business that does this than one that routinely tries to shave as close as possible to the meager standards required by U.S. Labor laws (HI WALMART, YEA I'M TALKIN' TO YOU!) and even fails at that.

9. I think the average salary is $40,000
and their medical benefits are said to be excellent. The CEO told the stockholders that he wouldn't screw to customer or his employees for .25 cents extra per share. America needs more corporate leaders like him!

Also, they're stocking more and more organic foods.

3. #1 and #2 above
got me in the door. But they also carry good quality merchandise at (mostly) good prices. Went on my CostCo run today, in fact!

5. GREAT Products At Great Prices!!
I don't know what I would do without Costco. It's so much cheaper and I love the big sizes, I never run out of stuff we eat/use every day. Love the house brand nutritional supplements, laundry soap (no perfumes or dyes!) shampoo, etc., love the fresh soup and roasted chickens from the deli, love the produce and the ceasar salads and the wine selections I LOVE COSTCO!

7. I love Costco gasoline and office supplies
This way I don't have to directly fund firms in industries like these which are almost completely dominated by the Rethugs. Lines are long at the pumps, but they have the best prices in town. In the case of office supplies, many of the items that are not yet available in stores are available from their website. We're Executive members, and the additional membership fees are worth every penny.

It's hard to find a company that's more Blue than Costco. These folks are a class act.

10. Great prescription prices even for non-members.
I get my prescriptions there, and the prices are astoundingly low. It's okay if you're not a member. Call and ask for a price check for your prescriptions. You'll be amazed. It's especially good if you don't have health insurance.
