Green Mountain Energy?
What does anyone know about them? I'm going to switch anyway (away from Reliant, which donated $100,000 to DeLay's legal defense fund), so should I go with Green Mountain?

1. never mind.
I think I've answered my own question.

There's the link to the quarter-mil in "soft money" from these guys to R's in '00. 100% Red. And founder Sam Wyly (who now owns only a mere "minority" interest according to Yahoo business, which also notes that the current Chairman has the same last name...hmmm!) gives money to every Republican that comes to his door, apparently.

Yeah, a truly "green" energy company doing business in Texas was too much to ask, I know. :eyes:

2. But if Green Mountain gets its power from wind energy ...
... isn't that a good thing to support? Most owners and CEOs of companies support Republican politicians. It's hard to find any company that doesn't. Especially in the energy industry. So, isn't patronage of Green Mountain's wind energy better than getting your energy from, say, a coal-burning company?

3. Plus too, whatever TXU charges, they charge, they admit it and
will not charge you less. After 3 years with Green Mountain, I just couldn't afford them any longer, so went with http://cirroenergy.com

4. Founded by right wingers - Greenwashing Mountain
"majority owned by the Wyly family, known for its support of rightwing politicians and causes"

Read this site and make up your own mind:
"Green Mountain's energy products are misleading and do more harm than good"
