Recycled toilet paper/napkins/paper towels

I can't believe you can't get these at a grocery store or even Costco. Does anyone know any brands or where you can get them?

Yes, that's really the name. Read the site and you'll get the concept. We bought the little case first, and we liked it; we bought a year's supply about 2 months ago. Very easy on the sewer and the body both.

As for napkins and towels, we use cloth. None of my kitchen towels get washed in anything that isn't food safe; we use Eco or similar soap and no softener on kitchen stuff (dry climate, we must use softener for other things). We buy the big flour-sacking towels at the farm co-op out on the plains for $3 for 5 towels. They last a long time and work really well, and the washing is something I'm doing anyway.

Napkins I tend to get either on clearance at some big-box (and they clearance them all the time) or used and washed at thrift stores. (We also use handkerchiefs, but then again, everyone knows we're strange.)

Since I live alone, the transition to them would seem to be a great thing, can't infect anyone else.

I have cloth napkins, but don't use them often enough. I do prefer to use handi-wipes to paper towels, they can be rinsed out and reused and put through the washer and used some more. They take forever to decompose into a lattice of lint.

There is no substitute for paper towels for Chinese cooking, though, giving that wok a quick wipe between courses.

3. The sad fact is that most TP is made of trees because most people

don't think of recycled paper as a source for recycled toilet paper.

Sad, isn't it? We're flushing trees because people are too quick to think EEEWWW.

I loved that thing. Now I accomplish hygiene with a handheld shower, but it's just not the same as washing every time there's a bit of dew on the lily.

so.... cold water, or do you have to wait for it to heat up, or is that taken care of, or what? in the winter here in illinois, water straight out of the tap is numbing, and i *can't* fire that at my poon, no way, nohow.

That's the brand I see most often. Price is much more reasonable than 7th Generation. Pretty good quality.

why can't kudzu be ground into a pulp and then reconstituted for t-paper? And paper towels? Would be SUCH an improvment over wiping our butts with old-growth forests...

I think that safeway carries Seventh Generation. At least they do in my area.
