Seventh Generation: Environmentally conscious company
Edited on Wed Nov-16-05 08:37 PM by Glenda
Just from the Nov 05 newsletter the president of that company writes an article:

"Profiles in Courageous Conservation: Meet Robert Kennedy, Jr., One of the Coolest People I’ve Ever Met"

I already buy this stuff, but I didn't realize how environmentally conscious the company is!! Their paper products are 100% recycled

1. Awesome!
I tried their laundry detergent for the first time, and have had great results.

2. Warning: The dishwasher detergent is not so good.

It's hard and clumpy (meaning I have to put the box in a big zip-top bag and pound on it with my rolling pin to make it useful*) and since we've been using it, we've had odd brown streaks on the white dishes. Thus, I have to wash about a third of my dishes again, by hand.

Our dishwasher is far more efficient with water usage than I am doing them by hand, plus we can let dishes stack up in the dishwasher for 2 or 3 days (there's just two of us) which can't be done with the sink.

Edited to add: We went back to Kirkland liquid (Costco brand); they're a Blue company, it's still low in phosphorus, and it's more efficient in the long run.

* We live at high altitude, in a dry climate. So it's not humidity.
