restrictions on political contributions? While browsing my zip code in opensecrets.org I have found a private individual and wife seriously over contributing under VERY slight variations of their names, sometimes repeated instances of the $2000 limit to one candidate on a single date.

1. GELAC
They may have perhaps been given to a GELAC. I know that when you have donated $2000.00 you can give more to the candidate but designate it be reserved for the GELAC fund. That was the case for Kerry anyway.

In regards to the name differences, when you fill out those forms some times people put middle initials, sometimes not. Other times the people who input the data make mistakes. I would suggest giving the person(s) the benefit of the doubt.

2. I can understand different names from misspellings, but in this case
both members of the couple spelled their name in several different ways, several times on the same day, with each individual check at the legal limit and to the candidate, no indication of GELAC. And there are multiple seperate days when they have done the same thing. It appears to be abuse worth reporting because of total $ involved, but I have no idea who to submit a report to so someone can check into it.
