That Whole Thanksgiving "Pig Out" Mindset
Let's not!

The weird thing is I don't even really like traditional Thanksgiving food that much -- it's OK but I don't LOVE it.

But I must be easily programmable or something because I find myself overeating year after year even though I hate listening to everyone complain about how full they are etc etc, then I end up doing the same thing.

Well, tomorrow I plan on having a little of everything and stopping when I'm full and when everyone starts that ritualistic complaining I'll go walk the dog!

I DO love pumpkin pie I must admit!! The rest of it I can take it or leave it. Def the green bean casserole thing I can leave alone, LOL!

2. we started a new tradition a few years ago
we decided all that work for a 20 minute meal was ridiculous and what we liked best were the "munchies" and the turkey sandwiches later in the day

sooo....

we buy a high quality turkey breast, all the munchies (deviled eggs, nuts, relish trays, crackers, cheese, olives, pickles etc etc) and munch all day and watch football

no big mess to clean up, no tossing the sweet potato with marshmallows and GBC on Sunday and since your just "graze" all day, no uncomfortable stuffed feelings LOL

we love it!!

3. I really enjoy the cooking process...
but I'm not killing myself this year.

There are 3 of us, but I'm still doing the turkey and regular sides.

Next year I found a recipe for turkey tenderloins. I think I'll scale back then.

5. We're having thanksgiving with the folks at the mission.
We decided that the best way to enjoy Thanksgiving would be to help feed those who can't afford to cook their own meal. It's a wonderful thing to do with the kids.
