1. Thank you, AzDem.
I was looking for this list. This website is really nice because it covers just about every place we spend our money.

I'm going to print this list and give to my family members and Dem friends at work. As a final coffin nail, I'm going to send letters to the BIG donors and explain to them why I will never spend a dime of my money on them, even if it means some inconvenience for me, including paying a little bit more. Over the long run, we will gain.

Just a couple of comments: Costco is obviously a huge Dem supporter. Trader Joe's is not mentioned but they are recommended because they supported neither party.

Does anyone know about Winco? Or Cub Foods as it was previously called. I shop there, and I want to make sure they're Blue.

3. Nice site but...Fox is blue?
They show News Corp and all subsidiaries contributing 68-32 to Democrats. I'd say that raises a "red flag."

I think the site would be better if they showed the parent corporation once and listed all subsidiaries and brands underneath. I'll design the database if someone else wants to write the UI and collect the data...

5. No need to re-invent the wheel...
http://www.globalblogs.com/progressivepages/index.html

We show Fox -- and its subsidiaries -- as red as Lucille Ball's wig.

(News Corp. is in the works... But we need more volunteers! This means you, Mr. or Ms. Socially Conscious Consumer... and you, and you, and you...)

9. Does anyone else find it extremely screwed up
That FOX and the Weekly Standard's parent company, News Corp., gives almost 70 percent to the Democratic party? Can someone tell me, exactly, WHY?

10. My assumption
When I gave to organizations like MoveOn or Howard Dean, I had to supply my name, address, and place of employment. A search can then be done on your name or your company's name.

In the case of Fox, my guess is that some regular workers gave to the Dems but the executives were told not to give because of the publicity. When I tried leaving the place of employment blank, I was pestered about it, but I suppose I could have still left it blank. I know I could have said that I was retired. Then there is no company name to show up.

By the way, I heard that at some companies there is more pressure to give to one party or another. So pressure can come from the top.
