Any advice on purchasing a hard-disc multitrack?
I'm leaning towards a BOSS BR-1600CD.

The price is about right, it has a lot of guitar modelling stuff.

It even has vocal pitch correction.

Your thoughts?

1. I bought one a few weeks ago and LOVE it ...
I bought this one ...

The guitar patches are amazing. Totally tweakable in all parameters. I paid $699 for this.

2. Sweet.
I keep trying to tell myself that I need more than 8 tracks, and I'd like to be able to record 8 tracks at once for the purpose of using it for live recording.

But that unit is probably all I need for home recording, especially since the internal drum tracks don't count towards the 8.

Have you used it for much editing, or are you just punching in/out mostly?

3. I tend to just redo the shit til I get it right ...
It has far more editing functions than I will use. Since I came from the 4-track experience, I am chintzy on my tracks and have yet to use all 8 tracks on a recording.

4. Well, you might be happy to know that you convinced me.....
I put in my order for the 16-tr version of your ZOOM.

I compared it with about 5 other units and the ZOOM has everything I want and more. And......ZOOM/Samson is giving me a free condensor mic with the purchase.

I just couldn't put it off any more.
