Well, I Bought Another Guitar!
I finally got my two humbucker, fixed bridge guitar. I bought a Schecter Blackjack.

Really nice guitar. Has a 10.25" radius and slim neck, so it's much more Fender than Gibson. Full scale length like a Fender, too! Carved maple top over mahogany with a standard Tune-a-matic.

Seymour Duncan pickups with coil splitting. It's got a 5 position switch like a Strat so that:
1) Bridge Humbucker
2) Single coil with the bridge emphasized, so it sounds like the bridge-middle Strat combination.
3) Both Humbuckers
4) Both single coil, like #2 but set to sound more like the Strat's middle-neck position.
5) Neck Humbucker.

It's really versatile, and the neck is really fast. It keeps me from being tempted by the whammy bar on a couple of the instrumental things i've been working on. (I can still play a million notes on it, but i'm less tempted to shred.)

It's deeply finished black (hence the name) and has ivory binding around the whole body, neck and headstock. Sharp guitar. Terrific buy for the money. Blue-Jay told me he had a Schecter, so i thought i'd try one out. He was right. It is a terrific guitar for the money. (Mid-price guitar. Not cheap, just not ridiculous. But, it is now my 3rd most expensive guitar.)

I now have the complete spectrum of electric guitars, excepting maybe a 12 string. And i dunno about a 12 string electric. Not sure i'd ever actually use it.

My son plays a Schecter....and I love it. He does too.

Great guitars.

Did you see my post from a couple of days ago? I just bought an Ibanez bass. It's kinda pointy too!!

2. I Knew You Would Come Over To The Darkside!
The pointy guitars will rule the world. All non-pointy guitar players will pay for their lack of vision.

3. That's all well and good....
...until you're onstage and you get stabbed in the groin with one.

4. Yeah, But We Pointy Players'll Be Doin' The Stabbin'!
You just wait. When the pointy guitar rapture happens, you'll be glad you bought that Ibanez. You will be saved with the rest of us. ES-335 and Les Paul players are in BIG trouble.

5. You should drop by and have a gawk at my Shecters.
My favorite is the blue C1 Classic. I also have a XX, that was produced as a 20th anniversary model. Only 100 were made, and I have number 56. They're both pretty sweet and non-pointy.

C1 Classic:

XX:

Both have Grover tuners, REAL Duncan P-ups, five way switches, and Tone Pro bridges.

6. Now Wait Just One Minute!
Those guitars are absolutely, positively no less pointy than my JS! Especially that top one. My JS has even more sculpting on the top to smooth out any edges. Geez, there's not a 90 degree angle anywhere on my guitar.

See, you guys are all self-loathing anti-pointites. You and XNASA both own pointy guitars but make fun of me for having them! Very sneaky, you guys are.

I'm going to call the Pointy Guitar Defammation League and have them talk to you about keeping these in captivity!

Then we'll see who be laughing.

7. Go ahead and call the PGDL!
When they see that you don't own a BC Rich Warlock or a Beast, they'll laugh you out of their office. nyah.

(actually, the two that I posted have the exact same body dimensions, but the blue one is a bit heavier due to the maple cap. They're quite Fender-ie in shape, without the lame-o skinny assed neck.)

I'll have to admit that I wouldn't mind having a Gibson SG, however. Those get a free pass despite the pointiness.
