broke a string on friday so after one year of the same strings i replaced them with martin medium gauge...i wanted to put on some gibsons...but couldn't find any here in town,
i polished the guitar with pledge...i just could not find any guitar polish in town that didn't look like sperm from a whale....
i actually have used pledge on various guitars over the years and it does not seem to hurt and leave the guit looking very shiny and new...
i played for a couple of hours...life is good...
ps...i know i'm supposed to replace strings much more often...but i am not just an asshole...i'm also a lazy shit...

You and I have similar string changing habits. I bought my Peavy bass in 2000 and i have yet to change the strings and I play it semi professionally. I have a spare set just in case though. I recently peeled off the white sticker that came on the guitar and it is an entirely different shade of white than the rest of the guitar. The thing is, it sounds great with the old strings.
