I just saw John Edwards on CBS's Face the Nation
and yes, I know I sound like a broken record, but damn, we could have had some real substance in this election instead of a stuffed shirt and pastel pant-suit. I miss his progressive stance on just about every issue, and I'm sorry, but Obama and Hillary aren't even paying lip-service anymore to poverty or the crimes of corporatism. I am just really sad everyday this charade of an election approaches.

1. good to see you adnelson
Don't despair. So long as a handful of us are steadfast in holding on to the promise, that will be enough - a start, and a damned good start. Don't be deceived - the calls for "supporting Obama" and "healing" and "unity" are not about winning any election; they will not be happy until we give up on the promise of the Edwards campaign, stop talking, stop expressing our opinions, stop speaking the truth. They want us to deny the truth, they want to pretend that the Edwards campaign didn't happen or wasn't real, they want to make us disappear and sink into the "unity" jello and be assimilated and silenced. So long as we just keep speaking the truth, we are an anchor around which millions of people can and will rally, and the more steadfast we are the sooner that will happen.

2. it's sad I know..
but I have said, don't discount that John will say if he's displeased with them, and let them hear it. Every politician is accountable, and if they promised something, and don't do it (in this case Obama, b/c there's no way Hill is getting the nom), they will be called out heavily on it - especially in closed room talks.

I really hope Barack stands up for the poor and working classes against the thieves who are inflating everything that's a commodity and hurting people's ability to even eat!

3. Hillary's going to bump of Obama? Your journal. Your words. Nuff said.

"With the former president sticking his foot deep down his throat yesterday (once again), and further embarrassing her (once again), I don't like the idea of her sticking around as if she has a chance, because I am very concerned for Obama's safety, and it's too convenient that she'd be still running if something fishy was occurring. Obama is a threat to their corporate claw dictating our lives and pocketbooks, and he's even pushing for people who own stock to have the right to determine CEO pay! That has to totally tick them off!"

4. Poverty seems to be off the table
It's interesting that once HRC and BO realized Edwards wasn't going to endorse either of them, they scaled back on populism and poverty issues in their stump speeches.

5. It's ALWAYS off the table. Remember Clinton's welfare deform bill?
Knife in the back to poor folk.

Dems are no longer the party of the poor, and at the rate they're going, they won't even be the party of the muddle-class anymore.

Oh well. Pppppfffttthhhhh!!
