To my fellow Edwardians - Happy Friday and I hope everyone has a great weekend!

I would just like to say that I'm happy that John is not considering a VP slot - even though the position has greatly increased in terms of power, I still think he would be hindered in any efforts he made toward ending poverty, empowering Unions, and Universal Health Care. Since endorsing Obama (and while that ticked me off, I knew that he would - he's a loyal Democrat), both he and ELizabeth have been very quiet - which tells me two things:

1. He may not have been that enthusiastic about endorsing

2. He knows that he may play a limited role in an Obama administration.

So, with that in mind, how does everyone here feel about John Edwards going the way of Al Gore? (gee, no word from Al on endorsing, hmmm)

1. I would like to see that

He has the ability and the money to do exactly what Al Gore has done. It needs to be done. It would also position him better for 2012, if he's interested.

I would like for him to be AG, but I really don't think he would have the free rein needed to actually do what needs done.

Also, I think it is very telling that Gore has not endorsed. If he doesn't endorse by the end of the weekend, I don't think he will at all, at least not until the convention. Gore doesn't just do things willy nilly. He has a reason.

3. Gore not saying anything is really telling, imho.

And I hope he does run in 2012, as long as Elizabeth's health is okay.

2. Just because I miss him, I wouldn't mind seeing John on the ticket.

But, I think he could be more effective outside an Obama administration than in a cabinet position.
