Notice he doesn't endorse him either? Snark. Could be those anti enviornmental votes caught up with O , or that little issue of "acounting all the votes" ?

WASHINGTON -- Al Gore called Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois on Tuesday to congratulate him on earning the Democratic nomination for president.

But the former vice president does not want any position in a possible Obama administration, his spokeswoman said Wednesday.

Kalee Kreider said in written responses to questions that Gore has not even determined when he will announce his endorsement.

Despite the increased prominence Gore has earned through his work on climate change, he has stayed on the sidelines during the presidential race. He did not release any official announcement Tuesday.

"Vice President Gore has long since ruled out any possibility of serving in an administration," Kreider said.

Gore was in New York Wednesday where one of the reporters for one of his business ventures, Current TV, was being given an award. He then flies to California, Kreider said, but she declined to disclose his upcoming schedule or whether he would be speaking publicly or doing interviews regarding the presidential race.

1. Gore's silence says a lot
for those who are willing to acknowledge it. I think the fact that Elizabeth Edwards hasn't jumped on the Obama train is very telling, too.

2. I think Elizabeth is doing this -

Updated: Barack Obama to Team up with Elizabeth Edwards on Healthcare!!

to make sure Obama gets it right - and yes, Gore's silence is very telling. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall during some of Edwards' and Gore's phone calls.

3. But she expressly precluded herself from being included in the "endorsement" by John.

4. And I appreciated that about her -
and I think both have been pretty quiet lately - you see more of Richardson out there for Obama. I think because the first official GE campaign visit was North Carolina, we see this about Obama asking Elizabeth to partner up:

Obama spokeswoman Jen Psaki said there are no "formal" plans to connect with Edwards. But, Psaki added, Obama "looks forward to seeking Elizabeth Edwards' advice" on health care policy.

If anything, it's a start and I hope that if Elizabeth does work with him, she'll be the guiding force. I still don't think that either are overly enthusiastic about Obama, but more than anything I believe they want a Dem in the White House.

5. I predict it won't last.

it won't last because Obama's healthcare proposal is actually health insurance in disguise and has loop holes you could drive a semi through.

Only a few of the examples you're going to insist on. I don't have time to go through them all.

It says they won't be turned away because of a pre-existing condition, etc. Newsflash. They won't be turned away. They'll just be offered insurance at a rate that they can't afford, which will include anything from people working in fast food who can't afford health insurance period if they want to take anything home all the way up to upper middle class people whose treatment is very expensive.

Affordable premiums, co-pays, etc. Define affordable. You can't because one person's "affordable" is another person's "hallucination/daydream/wish upon a star".

Subsidies. Paid for by whom while we're spending, what, a trillion a month now in Iraq?

Simplified paperwork and decreased healthcare costs? It is to laugh.
1. They're already going to electronic health records.
2. Insurance companies and the government are still going to demand proof of things done. That requires a record which is going to require human input.
3. And although it may become automated, the healthcare organizations are going to have to defend themselves from mistakes made by the automated system and from incorrect refusal to pay by the government and insurance companies. This shows a level of ignorance about the healthcare system which I find surprising since Michelle was supposedly working in that field.

I think this is going to be a short-lived association.

6. I think Obama's healthcare plan sucks -
and I hope that if he does involve Elizabeth, he will follow her lead. But, like you, I have little faith in what may transpire. I still wonder why his plan didn't more closely follow Edwards or even Clinton's for that matter, kinda makes you wonder.

7. Human nature, I think.
He wanted to create something that was all his, not someone else's. I can understand that. I don't understand the end result because it really does look like he didn't get anyone from the field or maybe just not from the right areas of that field for input or to vet it.

the roadblock?

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Money from the pharmcos and insurance industry isn't something O has a spine that would enable him to jump over.
