So let me get this straight.
As of tomorrow what exactly are we not allowed to post here?

Are we no longer able to say ANYTHING negative about Obama, his "supporters" and the Obama "movement"?

Even if we are attempting to exercise our freedom to question here in the Edwards forum what we might see as unhealthy for the ideals and concerns of the far left?

Is my "not voting Republican" enough to satisfy anyone who might object to my posting here?

As a concerned Democrat am I allowed to question the decisions of the Democratic Party?

To my fellow Edwards Democrats here, please add to this list of questions so that those of us who may choose to remain have it clear as to what we are allowed to post.

3. no
It was nothing like this last time. This is a far more suppressive atmosphere now. Many people criticized the Kerry campaign.

4. No. It is nothing like the last primary. People wailed about Kerry continually.
I believe they were no longer allowed to diss the nominee but they complained about the campaign. But I NEVER saw people threatened like this. I was "threatened twice yesterday. Both in this forum and the "Sprituality " Forum and it seems that the folks doing so have never been here before. Odd. BTW, the Hillary "Release of Delegates on the Greatest Page is false. I verified it with a Super Delegate. It is disinfomation. Besides, a candidate really has no authority to "release delgates anyway".But guess what? I fell for it. I actually saw the story and posted it elsewhere. We should be more vigilant about disinformation.Edwards couldn't really "release " his delegates either.

Why is it not now?

6. Criticism of the "campaign" was allowed as in" rotten campaign advisers like Schrum" .
Or you could say Kerry gave a "boring" speech or that it was "stupid to go windsurfing and who told him to do that". But you couldn't post anything overtly pejorative to the nominee like Kerry is a womanizer who deserves to lose(No one ever posted that just making up an unacceptable meme, or maybe Kerry is a communist would be get you TSed. Somehow it doesn't seem that the same leeway will be allowed. I will be surprised if it is.

asses off for Kerry - when he backed out of using the 10,000 free lawyers, after he had promised to use them and fight, who had assembled and spread out from across the country (we had two here from state of Washington - they coudn't have traveled any further and still be in the US) we hated him, and still dont think much of him today - lily livered coward - I think Hillary remembered that,, another reason why she stuck to it to the end - allowing everyone to vote.

His support did not carry the state for "the presumptive nominee" and it now looks like for the first time he has a democratic challenger - just may lose his seat for these shenanigans

14. I was just referring to what was "allowed" to be posted during the GE
per DU board rules. Personal anti Kerry talking points were not permitted as anti Obama personal talking points will no longer be permitted on DU. It is however , my impression that the campaign criticisims will not be allowed either , though they were in the past.

The lawyer incident was after the General Election".And you are correct, he does indeed have a challenger.

to the candidate and his meaning?

8. The mission of DU is to support the Dem nominee....
I would imagine anything supportive of McCain or used for the purpose of defeating the Dem Candidate or pushing a Third Party, would not be allowed

Skinner has several messages pinned to the top of the GD forums that might be helpful. I didn't join DU until after the convention in 2004, and Edwards was on that ticket. I also hated Bush. Yeah, it was pretty easy then to tow the party line. :silly:

the limiting of speech here is pretty outrageous,
but since Bush has turned the country into a police state,
why not just follow through everywhere I guess some think.

we have a duty to criticize our country (paraphrasing) to keep it on the right track ............seems to me that should apply to a party too when it has become corrupt.

15. that is the most important point of any
The value of an Internet board is all created by the posters. The value of an Internet board is created by the posters.

The politics in the country, here and everywhere, is determined by who has the resources and the willingness to exploit others for their own profit. How this can be overlooked and not discussed, among those who claim to be even somewhat on the political left, is an enduring and puzzling mystery.

When we start out with the unchallenged assumption in everything we do and in all of our transactions and activities, that "he who has the gold makes the rules" - that this is "the way things are" and that nothing else can be said on the subject, that no alternatives are to be considered, we have already completely surrendered the battle before it has even begun. Then we wonder why there is so much frustration and confusion and failure.

Throughout the liberal organizations and on the liberal boards over the years, I have argued and argued against the pervasive acceptance of the "ownership" and "free market" society ideas, but it falls on deaf ears.

If the left is going to be about preserving the ownership society, and promoting the opposite of the golden rule, and dutifully falling in line behind the winners (bullies and tyrants) and attacking critics and dissidents (anyone objecting to the murderous state of affairs) as losers, and then we are just going to tinker a little with that by promoting some feel-good liberal causes - putting lipstick on the pig - we are wasting our time.

21. I have tried
I have tried and failed, and have been heart broken about it for weeks. I finally just shut down emotionally and went into a dark depression worse than anything I have ever experienced.

I don't know. There is nothing I want to do more. I spent 12 hours a day seven days a week on it for months, trying to explain to people, offering my services. I will need help somehow, because I haven't been able to build the trust or working relationships that are needed.

It is a truism that almost any sect, cult, or religion will legislate its creed into law if it acquires the political power to do so...

How's Sheridan? Hope he's well. Been spending time with the kids after work in the pool, my three year old daughter (who's very blond) is starting to get that green chlorine tinge to her hair - ahh, the joys of summer. :hi:
