Obama campaign confirms it.

One thing to keep in mind here is if Edwards becomes Obama's VP pick, he has at least a 15% chance of becoming the nominee in 2016. The betting markets are giving Obama a 64% chance of winning the election. Assume a 50% chance of Obama winning re-election and a 50% chance of the Obama VP winning the 2016 nomination, just as Al Gore and Bush41 did after two-term presidents. (Really that last number should probably be higher, but let's keep it conservative.)

.64 x .5 x .5 = .16, which means a 16% chance of Edwards becoming the 2016 nominee. It's one of the reasons why I think it's important for Edwards supporters to get behind the Obama/Edwards idea -- it's probably our best way of getting an Edwards administration someday.

2. You always make me smile.
I can't quit him either, Wave.

I think we ought to really push the "Edwards for VP" idea, if for no other reason than to let Obama and the Democratic Party know that a huge block of Dem voters want to see the issues that John stood for be given a prominent place in the Dem platform.

3. I think Obama needs Edwards -
He pulling too much to the center and John can keep him on track with the Progressive issues, plus Edwards can help snag those Indy and wavering Republican voters - and a good portion of the Hillary base that still may harbor some doubt about Obama. I don't want him as second fiddle, but if it gets him closer to Top Dog, I can live with that. Also, it would give those who dislike him (for the life of me, I can't figure that one out) and chance to get to know him, perhaps now that the VP's office (thanks to Cheney :puke: ) is more powerful, he may be able to actually get some things done.

5. I would much rather he be AG. VP is a waste of his talents.
And an insult.
