Healing thoughts and energy to Elizabeth Edwards who is very ill.
Elizabeth Edwards seriously ill

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Elizabeth Edwards' cancer has spread, and her health has deteriorated, multiple sources told WRAL News Monday.

Edwards, 61, the wife of former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, was briefly hospitalized recently, but she is now at home, and her family and friends are lending their support.

She was first diagnosed with cancer in the final weeks of the 2004 presidential campaign, when her husband, who was at the time a U.S. senator from North Carolina, was the Democratic nominee for vice president. The couple didn't disclose her illness until after the election.

The cancer went into remission after months of treatment, but it resurfaced in early 2007, as John Edwards was mounting a second run at the White House. The Edwardses agreed at the time that they wouldn't allow the cancer to derail his candidacy.

Because the cancer had moved into her bones in 2007, her doctors said at that time that it was no longer curable but could be treated.

1. This is heartbreaking
The People Magazine story has statements from her family:

http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20447423,00.html

Elizabeth Edwards's cancer fight has taken a turn for the worse, with the disease spreading to her liver and doctors recommending against additional treatment.

"Elizabeth has been advised by her doctors that further treatment of her cancer would be unproductive. She is resting at home with family and friends," the Edwards family says in a statement to PEOPLE.

-snip-

With the sudden turn, family members – including daughter Cate, a Washington lawyer, and her brother and sister, Jay and Nancy Anania – hastened to Chapel Hill, N.C., to be with her.

"It isn’t possible to put into words the love and gratitude I feel to everyone who has and continues to support and inspire me every day," Edwards wrote on Facebook. "To you I simply say: you know. With love, Elizabeth."

4.  I have a tiny light in my window that burns 24/7. I printed her name on rose sented
paper and taped it to the light. I feel so very very sad....we were just getting to know her.

5. Class act
Elizabeth is well aware of where she is in the journey.

My wish is that she is not uncomfortable and she is able to be working on holiday events for the kids. I hope John will make peace with her/the fmaily and figure out what he needs to do in being a single parent that can sustain him during the first few months of next year. He always could count on her trusted advice.
