There was some question about whether or not the funeral service for EAE was public. I just checked, and it is.
http://elizabeth-edwards.org/funeral/For those of you who wish to attend, the map is listed there. There will be a couple of DUers going--maybe more, but I'm only aware of four.
Here's another map for parking options that someone forwarded:

http://www.legacy.com/guestbook/newsobserver/guestbook.aspx?n=elizabeth-edwards&pid=146995732&cid=viewI'm seeing that 350 people on Facebook are planning a human shield to protect the kids and families from having to deal with those God-awful protesters from the WBC.
I cannot attend the event, but a few of us are making some tentative plans to get together in the spring in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area to celebrate her life. When I have more details (which I won't have for at least a couple of months), I'll be certain to share them here and perhaps we can find a lovely place that can accommodate us but isn't too expensive.
I will be putting up a diary on Saturday evening or Sunday morning at the Daily Kos as I will have to wait for reports via the news and from the four who are attending, so be looking for that.
For my part, I intend to wear a pink ribbon (or have something pink handy) on Saturday. While Elizabeth's death is tragic, I believe she would want us to support the survivors.
