Why do Edwards bashers insist on misrepresenting his record?

Last week, a poster accused him of twice voting against an increase in the minimum wage and lambasted him for not bothering to vote for the child tax credit. So, I did a little research on Project Vote Smart and discovered that these assertions were untrue. When I responded with the truth, I was accused of "typical Edwards strongarm tactics."

Today, someone's accusing him of losing a media consolidation vote for us and saying that he has a bad record on federal abortion bans. Again, I did a little research and I found nothing that supported these allegations. I responded to this post as well. So far, no one's accused me of strongarming.

correcting the facts. That's all the campaign wants us to do on public message boards, otherwise, we become "them". The best way to starve trollish behavior, is to not feed them...but...I do like to correct them :)

There was one garbage thread calling JE fake, etc and the only true candidate was the OP's. That's it, no research, no context. So I replied to the effect that wasn't doing his/her canidate any favors either. The response was a simple "I'm here to change one mind at a time". Oh well. *ignore* :D

Way to go, keep up the good work. This country deserves John Edwards, a fresh start, with an open, intelligent and pretty much baggage free President!!!

I've had that problem here to. The biggest obstacle it creates for me, is I'm just not that freakin' smart. Who has someones voting record on the tip of their tongue? No me.

But it does help you do your homework, that's for sure.

6. Thanks rocky! I try to stay out of the "my candidate is better than your candidate" flame wars

but when I see people posting inaccurate information, I'm going to call them on it. I'll admit I don't know everything there is to know about John Edwards and if I see an allegation that doesn't sit well with me, I'm going to check it out. Project Vote Smart is a great site, that's where I got the information that debunked the minimum wage lie.
