So we have some work to do in California people. Moral of the story- if you live in Ca, GET OFF YOUR ASS AND GO TO WORK!
Really the whole event went great, and I'll be posting a full story on the event, including pictures, tomorrow afternoon. A few things now: lots of people, 300, a really good time. Got to meet and interview, Dolores Huerta, who co-founded United Farm Workers with Cesar Chavez, Christine Polosi, yes, Nancy's daughter, yes I was nice to her, (I did tell her that I'd only buy her book if she promised to ask her mom to put impeachment back on the table, hee-hee.)I met and spent a little time with Lynne Mosier Gravel, Mike Gravels daughter and she was really terrific to me, and very sharp. (Also, got some inside family stuff from her about what was going on during the Pentagon papers incident. And it's great.) Met a fella named Bill Bates that has written a wonderful book of political cartoons, I'll have info on where to pick that up as well, it's well worth the 18 bucks. And I met a lot of other great people too.
Lot's more on this tomorrow, once I get all my notes together.
Sorry, had to post one pic!
Can you believe these people gave me a megaphone?
