Some good news from Iowa this morning:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x3825397

New Strategic Vision poll places Edwards at 24% in Iowa -- 1 pt. behind What's Her Name. Obama now leads, but with Edwards as many voters' second choice, I think he defeats HClinton in the Hawkeye State.

1. Thanks OC!
I needed some good news this morning. By the way, did I ever tell you my favorite teacher was named Crusoe? And yes, she was related.

Again, thanks for the news.

6. Hey there, pioneer. I'm still enjoying the photos you put up the other
day here on DU -- I really liked that report a lot -- and I don't think I was the only one, either.

Go, John Edwards!

12. I'm the tardy party here, asdjrocky, since I only pop in to DU on an
erratic schedule.

We're still yakking it over but there's a better-than-50-50 chance we'll attend an Edwards event in Iowa this weekend.

It's kind of a long haul from where we'd be to get there but all the same, it would be kind of a blast.

I'll keep you posted.

2. Good news, indeed

I wish the Iowa polls would show us the situation when first- and second-place votes are combined, if they're able to do so.

5. Hi, DavidD. Yes -- that is the key part of the polling. Edwards runs
strong as a first choice, but the two frontrunners are ahead in the first-choice polling.

But I think in the second-choice polling, our good Mr. Edwards wins the Iowa caucus.

4. Iowa is going to be breath-taking, frogmarch. I've got a real good
feeling about it.

I'd love to hear some people who live in the small NW farm towns to see how many of them are for John Edwards there.

That would be a good glimpse into how things are going.

8. Hi, sandy. Hard to say, but things just feel real good right now for Iowa.
I'm not taking anything away from the other candidates -- their people have worked hard also -- but I just feel that JRE has the vibe.

10. Hi, Plucketeer. The danger in predicting politics is that politics is so
unpredictable. The next 3 weeks in Iowa is going to be a wild scramble.

I think John Edwards is extraordinarily well-positioned. I think HClinton is endangered and may wind up third -- or lower -- in the rankings on Jan. 4th. And last, I think Joe Biden does better than anybody thinks he will.

But it's gonna be wild.

And by the time it is over....I will be a fright. Wild eyed and frenzied.

Our dear candidate is fairing better than his devoted supporters who are hanging on to every post, every blogger, every opinion, every newscast, looking for that tasty morsel that will provide peace for a few moments....reasurance that does not exist.

I think he is doing just fine, thank you. And the view of Iowa from here in cyberspace, most likley looks much better on the ground then what I can see on my screen.

I have declared a self moratorium on GDPolitics. :P:

I will hide out here, where it is safe and comfy and among friends. :hi:

I suggest we convene for an afternoon party of sorts....and if possible and schedules allow.....let's watch the Iowa debate together.......what say you dear Edwards supporters?????

:toast:
