Here's hoping the editorial staff of the Des Moines REGISTER
endorses that nice Mr. Edwards fellow this Sunday.

They liked him in 2004 and endorsed him in Iowa's caucus. I hope they decide the same this time.

If you have not already bookmarked the REGISTER, it's kind of interesting to see what headines Iowans are reading in these last couple weeks or so before January 3d:

http://www.desmoinesregister.com

The stats I have are from 2005 and they show the daily REGISTER with a circulation of around 150,000 and a Sunday edition circulation of around 240,000.

If we are fortunate and the REGISTER endorses our guy, that's a lot of Iowa kitchen tables that John Edwards' name and photo will be plopped down on between the bacon & eggs and the orange juice and coffee.

Go, Johnny, go.

1. Different management
We'll have to see. Could be Biden too. However, I noticed JRE is going on 3 Sunday shows...

He rocked at the debate!

2. Hi, benny05. Good to see you. Yes, he did a great job in that debate,
and the ripple effect appears to be considerable.

On the REGISTER endorsement, my fingers are crossed!

3. I'm going to keep thinking positively that
Edwards will get the endorsement.

I can't imagine the stress the candidates are all under now. I am glad our candidate has stayed above the fray, but because of the fray between Clinton and Obama, the focus remains on them, and John is rarely mentioned. I hope he gets some good attention soon.

cranking it up, pouring expresso down their gullets at alarming rates, and driving like fiends through the snowy fields of the Hawkeye State.

Obama appears to have a lot of support in Iowa right now. I'm not sure what to think about which way the REGISTER's endorsement's going to go.

6. Hey there, asdjrocky. I keep a bookmark file on regional sites' media
during campaign cycles just to kind of see how it's going down in various primary states.

It makes it more fun. Not that many years ago it was almost impossible to know what was happening in other states' primaries because most local papers only glaze the headlines after the fact.

In the web age, we can do a zoom lens on the Concord papers and the Columbia tv stations and so on.

Best use ever for that "series of tubes' Ted Stevens keeps talking about!

10. Not really :)
They haven't picked a caucus winner since the 80's .... well, that made me feel better at least :D Team Clinton, including Bill, really schmoozed the DMR ladies.

12. Yeah, I know....
But I sense the HRC camp is going to be back to their arrogant ways - X's 100.

:hi: and thanks for the chin up!

11. Two questionble choices by the REGISTER, IMO.
HClinton is chosen after the leaked internal memo urging her to skip Iowa, and McCain chosen having long ago decided to skip the state altogether.

Sheesh.

13. Telling, no? Very corporate, status quo. Might work to JRE's benefit.
He's acquitted himself quite nicely on the morning shows. He's better than ever - his message, and his delivery. Fight the power!

14. That's a silver lining to a dark cloud, chimpymustgo, and i thank you for
reminding me of it.

Edwards is doing very well in this campaign, and you might be right about the DMR endorsement backfiring on them and helping the Carolinian.

I hope so.
