I am so mad I could spit!

I'm thinking real hard about going negative people. I've had it up to here with the haircut BS, the house BS, the unsubstantiated voting record BS, the snake-oil BS, and now we're dealing with a a fucking Enquirer love child story here. I can't take it anymore people.

I've tried to be nice. I've tried to post only positive topics. I am tired of playing nice with these scum bags. I mean, all ya gotta do is google 'Clinton rumors' or 'Obama rumors' and all of a sudden you have more ammo than you can imagine. I've been keeping files on the other top two candidates and I would love to start posting this stuff. So should I do it? Should I start trading tit for tat? Should I be willing to get down in the gutter with these scumbags? What do ya say, anyone wanna play a little good cop/bad cop in GDP? (Don't worry, I'm in the mood to play the bad cop.)

Now I know we are Edwards supporters. And I know we don't hate. I know we are supposed to be above this stuff. But where I grew up, the guy that turned the other cheek end up with two black eyes.

So I'm going to let you guys decide. Do I hit these scumbags where they live? Or do I stay on the high road?

Some people can go negative and some can't. Edwards can't. He has to be the forward-looking one, saving his ammo and acid for the real enemy - the GOP, the lobbyists, the corpocrats, and the Villagers.

3. My 2 cents....

I gave up & finally put the usual Edwards' bashers on ignore.

I don't post much and most definitely don't respond to the negative Edwards' posts. Responding just seems to energize them. Staying positive is helping to propel Edwards to the top of the polls. I don't think either John or Elizabeth would agree with going negative so I try & stay positive. I even watch how I drive now with an Edwards bumper sticker on my car!

I've just been hiding the threads here. I probably haven't seen all of them, because my ignore list is pretty extensive...heh, heh.

Isn't worth fighting the trollish behavior, because the "game" is to get attention, and nothing quite does it like a negative thread!

Don't comment in them, it just kicks the thread to the top. The best thing you can do is just K&R positive threads (on any topic) and try and knock the bad ones off the first pages.

7. Boy do I understand.I haven't gotten into that debate as I produced evidence of Clinton involvement

in the first Edwards "cheating' story that was in the NE and they absolutely refuse to accept the facts. I give up as I am tired of being called a "liar".These people are filth.Sorry but they are. I didn't even dislike Hillary until this aspect of her campaign surfaced and Then I did a little "research". Still nothing can be posted about them at ALL. I posted a gorgeous picture of Bill and they attacked ne. They are paranoid and evil but mot worth speaking to.I expect I will occasionally still defend "our guy" but I am afraid it makes little difference!

I think defending, not attacking, is the way to go. I've been trying to ignore anti-Edwards threads so they'll drop to the bottom of the pile, but sometimes I find them impossible to ignore and jump in, though I try to be careful about what I say so as not to encourage more snarkiness.

One thing I won't do in defending Edwards is to knock another candidate. We've won converts lately here at DU, partly by not doing that.

15. Edwards is angry. Angry about what is being done to this country,

the good people in it, and the Constitution. But he is using his anger for change. Anger is a very useful human tool, and we need to own our anger. Just use it to get these thugs out of office!!! Also, Edwards is a litigator. He combines his anger and purpose with FACTS and evidence. Something we're not exactly used to seeing with the Bush Crime Family.

Edwards is exactly the type of personality that will get things done in this country.

We're 2 weeks or so away from caucus night in Iowa, and the fists are flying down at the saloon.

You've posted a boatload of classy stuff on these boards. You'll like it better once it dies down again. Eventualy we'll have a nominee -- I think Edwards has the best shot to win the presidency and have to trust Iowa Democrats to choose him over the rest of the field.

Fully understand the frustration. I've been there. But just keep it on the sunnier side and let's send good vibes to our Democratic voter colleague citizens in Des Moines and Mason City and Iowa City and all the little towns and bergs scattered around the Hawkeye State. Most of them don't read DU. But a lot of them vote, and a lot of them like John Edwards.

Very glad to be here with the Edwards supporters.

For months I have wanted to join, mostly so that I could thank bobbolink for being such a relentless and courageous voice for those who have been forgotten. Then last night I had the opportunity with a group of people to see and hear Elizabeth and John Edwards, and when I came here today I saw bobbolink posting in this forum and I knew that I was with the right people by supporting Edwards.

I am looking forward to getting to know everyone here and to the fight ahead of us.

I can't tell you how inspired we all were by Edwards last night. People can ridicule and mock that if they want to, but the last time I felt this way about a candidacy, or saw everyday people respond to a candidate the way they are responding to Edwards - almost 40 years ago - he was gone forever just a month later. I am not going to apologize for having hope and for being inspired.
