"How is Barack going to bring about meaningful change as President when he is indebted to the very entities that are largely responsible for the current situation? He is taking big money from his lobbyist friends and large corporate interests. Now we're expected to believe that he's going to bring about changes that will help the American people, but will impact the bottom (profit) lines of his corporate friends?"
All of what he proposes comes at a cost: largely to the big corporations who have been raking in the cash during the Bush years. Barack has compromised himself by accepting this money, and he knows that he will be expected to return the favor once in office.
Barack (and Hillary) cannot bring about change, because they owe the same parties who have been controlling the Bush Administration.
A vote for Barack or Hillary is a vote for continuation of the Bush Administration policies that promote big business and harm the average American.
I've asked Obama's campaign three times to respond to this question, and I've heard nothing. I've asked supporters locally, and they cannot answer my question either. And I've asked that in numerous threads here at DU, and I get the normal insults and put downs as responses, but no concrete answers.
Why?
Because they know there is no logical answer. So, people say they want change, yet they're supporting candidates who are obligated to maintain the status quo. Go figure.
