It's good to be home. And I don't mean the four walls, I mean home on the JRE Supporters Group. First and most important, I want to thank everyone for their help, and generosity. You helped with the overnight stays of two of us, and the food, and gas for a few more of us. Left over is 66 dollars, which will be donated in my daughters name, for John Edwards. Thank you all, so much.
Now, the hard part. Sorry we didn't do better for the team there. I took three trips to Nevada, all chronicled here, and honestly people, I don't make predictions, and I never said we would win, but I thought we'd do better, than we did. I want you to know something, I feel like I've been sucker punched by the entire state on Nevada. And if that's how I feel, imagine how the staff, and John & Elizabeth feel.
Once, when I was fifteen, just when my balls decided to drop, I decided to swing on my Dad. When I came to, my Dad was standing over me, with his hand extended. "Here son," He smiled at me, "Let me help you up." That's how I feel right now. A little dazed, my head is aching, and I have a new respect for the firm right cross.
You'll hear the full story tomorrow in GDP, have you guys ever known me to run from anything yet? And I don't want you to look forward, at all, to a sad and sullen story. Nope. There were special and fantastic moments in my 32 hours gone. I saw some really cool stuff, right on the edge of our Republic.
It's a hard beat. I'm bloody, and bruised, but not near finished. We start tomorrow in the California Campaign. It's time to get busy, in my home town, and that's going to be a whole new story.
Wake up California, I'm home.
And stay close, I have a crazy fucking idea.
