1. In my mind...
we're winning Carolina
Can't you feel the sunshine
Can't you just feel the moon shine
And ain't it just like a friend of mine
to come back from behind
Yes we're winning Carolina in my mind

3. Reminds me of another song, from one of your favorites-
In my mind Im goin to carolina
Cant you see the sunshine
Cant you just feel the moonshine
Maybe just like a friend of mine
It hit me from behind
Yes Im goin to carolina in my mind

Karen shes a silver sun
You best walk her way and watch it shinin
Watch her watch the mornin come
A silver tear appearing now Im cryin
Aint I goin to carolina in my mind

There aint no doubt it no ones mind
That loves the finest thing around
Whisper something warm and kind
And hey babe the skys on fire, Im dyin
Aint I goin to carolina in my mind

In my mind Im goin to carolina
Cant you see the sunshine
Cant you just feel the moonshine
Maybe just like a friend of mine
It hit me from behind
Yes Im goin to carolina in my mind

Dark and silent last night
I think I might have heard the highway calling
Geese in flight and dogs that bite
Signs that might be omens say I going, going
Im goin to carolina in my mind

With a holy host of others standing round me
Still Im on the dark side of the moon
And it seems like it goes on like this forever
You must forgive me
If Im up and gone to carolina in my mind

In my mind Im goin to carolina
Cant you see the sunshine
Cant you just feel the moonshine
Maybe just like a friend of mine
It hit me from behind
Yes Im goin to carolina in my mind

6. That guy wrote some seriousley great songs.
Pop song writers go like this for me:
Holly
Springsteen
Lenon/McCartney
Ness (of Social Distortion)
Taylor
Dylan
Tuppen/John

There are a few more, and the list is always changing. But damn, ain't music just about it. I mean, it's the ever lovin end man, and you can go with it, til ya can't go no more. Dig?

9. And properly so! When the Berlin Wall came down, they hopped a plane
and went over there to sing and celebrate with the Germans from the formerly divided city.

I was so proud of those guys when they did that.

10. Teach your children well-
Don't you ever ask them why, if they told you, you will cry,
So just look at them and sigh and know they love you.

Love those two lines.

11. Those are great lyrics. That whole album is just about perfect.
I'm a fool for "Carry On," especially the part where the instruments stop and just their voices are soaring.

Joni Mitchell called them her "rock'n'roll choir boys."

12. Fitting for them.
Some of the most wonderful harmonies I've ever heard.

13. OMG... what a great thread!
"Carolina In My Mind"... PERFECT! Love the new lyrics. ;) :) I'm a huge JT fan, too. :D I just ran into the bedroom and sang pamela's new version of "Carolina" (thank you for that!) to my hubby. He laughed and thought it was perfect, too. Thanks, you guys... now I have an ear worm, but a really GREAT feel-good ear worm. It's a fine night to feel so good about SC. (Oh, and I love Crosby, Stills & Nash, too.)

15. Hey Joolz -- howdy. Thanks for throwing in on this post. If you have an
earworm of a James Taylor melody, your day's likely going to go pretty well!

Ditto CSN!

We're hearing now on these boards from some of our group in South Carolina -- and the movement looks real, and that's good.

14. Carolina moon
Carolina moon keeps shining
Shining on the president to be
Carolina moon I'm pining
Pining for the place he needs a win

How I'm hoping tonight you go, go to the right window
Scatter your light say I'm pulling for him do
Tell him that we back him all the way
Dreamy dreamy Carolina moon

How I'm hoping tonight you go, go to the right window
Scatter your light say I'm pulling for him, do
Tell him that we back him all the way
Dreamy Carolina moon
Dreamy Carolina moon

16. Sounds good to me. Let's have clear, clear skies and let that Carolina moon
shine down its sweet silver on the Edwards campaign in his home state.
