Come on folks, we have no super humans. This is just crazy. And a bit frightening, if you ask me.

I mean, calling Al Gore (lovingly, tongue-in-cheek) the "Goracle" was a little over the top, but at least there was an element of truth to it. I don't know what to say other than I would not post this out in GDP or GD.

I'm not bashing. Just concerned.

1. No, you're not overreacting

I was startled by the comet thing. I've come to expect that sort of thing in DU, but not from a major city's online news site.

What's bad about all this is if Obama does win the nomination (hope not) and the presidency, there are going to be an awful lot of disappointed people when they find out that he's just a man. A smart man, but one who will stumble, make mistakes, like anyone else. At least STL does acknowledge that some of his policy positions are, well...iffy, but I can envision the moaning and gnashing of teeth on DU when he doesn't live up to expectations. Nobody could, after all.

And you were wise not to post this on GD-P. A lot of Obama's supporters are reasonable, but some would flame you big time.

The biggest problem with turning someone -- anyone -- into a super human is that they will ALWAYS disappoint you, no matter how good they really are.

I wish people would realize that.
